Ranplan rofessional is your solution for designing, optimizing and automating in-building coverage. The software supports various radio technologies including mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G), public safety systems (PMR, DMR, TETRA, P25), IoT systems (NB-IoT, LoRa) and Wi-Fi technologies (2.4 GHz & 5GHz).
You can start your initial design by importing floor plans for an accurate view of your building from CAD files, 3D mesh object formats or even rasterized formats. Alternatively, buildings may be modelled manually in 3D to reflect complex structures such as airports, stations with tunnels, stadiums or industrial areas.
Once the preparation of the environment is finished, you can start working with the network components. Ranplan professional offers a rich device library containing over 14.000 devices from over 190 different vendors. This serves as a solid basis for your individual network design: You can now define the optimal network topology by optimizing the route of cables and selection of the suitable components. Ranplan professional lets you optimize the channel allocation and transmission power, reducing inter- and intra- network interference and signal leakage. Furthermore, antenna locations, numbers, transmission power and type can be fine-tuned in an automatic manner.
The results can be used to measure the return on investment and decide which solution should be used to deliver a cost-effective network that meets coverage, capacity and other KPI performance requirements.
Finally, Ranplan professional may import measurement data from walk or drive tests to validate the executed simulations. Different formats are supported, and the results may be shown on the user interface. Then, the measurement data may be compared with prediction results in order to calibrate for example the path-loss model or the material parameters.
