BROADCAST PLANNING TOOL CHIRplus_BC (FM/TV, T-DAB/DVB-T)

Training Focus

The seminar will start with the configuration of CHIRplus_BC and basics in field strength calculations as well as interference analysis. One focus of the training will be the usage of the network processor and the various calculation results. Beside the digital features of CHIRplus_BC the analogue part will also be emphasized. The understanding of the principles of the analog network analysis is prerequisite for developing efficient networks for digital terrestrial broadcasting.

Digital terrestrial networks are coming up with new requirements regarding the reception mode. Beside the additional portable or mobile reception the digital challenge in broadcast planning is linked with a lot of new features like single frequency networks (SFN’s) and network gain. To meet the new requirements it is necessary to learn and use the numerous features of the tool efficiently. The training will impart theoretical and practical knowledge.

Course Objectives

After the training the participants will be able to use the tool in a very efficient way. Furthermore the features and calculation results will be imparted from the theoretical as well as from the practical point of view.
