RADIO PLANNING BASICS FOR MOBILE NETWORKS

Training Focus

The concept for this training is a mixture of theoretical and practical parts. Basics of wave propagation and traffic modulation are as well subject as special cell structures. All circumstances and permissions necessary to bring a base station on air will be discussed. By means of photos and documents from a real GSM project in Europe, the participants will receive an insight into the tasks of a radio network planning engineer. Additional calculations of a traffic situation, the comparison of several field strength calculation models and the examination of the interference situation will complete this seminar.

Course Objectives

After the training the participants will be able to understand the methods of modern network planning for mobile systems (GSM, TETRA, UMTS). They will get to know all about the technical aspects to improve the overall coverage and interference situation.

Suitable for

Radio planning and realization engineers for GSM, TETRA and UMTS networks, system engineers, agents.
